16/7/06 - Redditch
& Bromsgrove PCT to Express Doubts
The Redditch and Bromsgrove PCT is expected to express serious
doubts about the latest proposals from the Worcester Acute
Trust at it's Board meeting (held in Public at Redditch Town
hall) on Tuesday. The PCT say that if the proposals were to
go ahead it would actually take money out of the Worcestershire
Health Economy because most patients would travel out of the
county to Solihull, Warwickshire or Birmingham. Neal Stote
Chair of the Save Alex Campaign said
| The PCT are the ones who commission
what services are provide at the Alex, if the Worcestershire
Acute Trust do not want to provide maternity and paediatric
services at the Alex the PCT can commission them from
other trusts, we be lobbying the PCT to commission these
vital services from Acute NHS trusts that do want to
provide them. |
